Hot Octopuss JETT TURBO Q&A: Kelly Gordon Talks Male Pleasure, Technology and What Buyers Get Wrong

Inside Hot Octopuss and the JETT TURBO
Male pleasure products have changed a lot over the past decade, but perhaps the bigger change has been the conversation surrounding them.
As part of Adultsmart’s Self Love September, Adultsmart director Eon spoke with Kelly Gordon, Chief Marketing Officer and Global Head of Sales at Hot Octopuss, for a conversation covering everything from male pleasure stigma to one of the brand’s most distinctive products, the JETT TURBO.
Kelly has been with Hot Octopuss for around 10 years and shared some fascinating insight into the brand, the thinking behind its technology and how customers actually respond to products that challenge the usual sex toy formula.
The answers below have been edited and condensed for clarity from the Adultsmart video conversation with Kelly Gordon.

2. How Has the Perception of Male Sex Toys Changed?
According to Kelly, one of the biggest historical problems with male pleasure was the way it was discussed.
Products for vulva owners were increasingly connected with wellness, self care and exploration. Products for penis owners, on the other hand, were often presented through a much more clinical lens, as though someone must have a problem before they could benefit from using one.
That mindset is changing.
More people now understand that using a toy does not need to be about fixing anything. It can simply introduce a different sensation, add variety to solo play or bring something new into partnered experiences.
3. What Makes the Hot Octopuss JETT TURBO Different?
4. How Do the Bass and Treble Motors Work?
This is where the JETT TURBO becomes particularly interesting.
Kelly explained that Hot Octopuss describes the two motors as Bass and Treble.
Treble
Provides a lighter, higher pitched and more focused vibrating sensation.
Bass
Provides a deeper, stronger and more rumbly sensation.
The clever part is that users do not have to choose one or the other.
Both motors can be adjusted independently, making it possible to experiment with different combinations until you find the balance that feels right.
That matters because sensation preferences are highly personal. What works brilliantly for one person may not be the setting someone else prefers.
5. What Is the Difference Between the Original JETT and the JETT TURBO?
The original JETT is still part of the Hot Octopuss range, but the TURBO was designed as a significant upgrade.
USB rechargeable
Larger opening
Sleeker design
Waterproof vibrating bullets
Retractable cables
Kelly explained that the retractable cables are particularly useful because they make it easier to manage the cable length and pack the product when travelling.
The original JETT still has a place in the range. Its lower price point gives curious first time users another entry into Hot Octopuss technology before potentially moving to the more powerful TURBO.
6. What Usually Surprises People About the JETT TURBO?
The first reaction is sometimes scepticism.
The JETT TURBO does not necessarily look like the type of male sex toy many shoppers are familiar with. It is not a conventional stroker or vibrating ring, and its two motor setup can look fairly technical at first glance.
According to Kelly, the reaction often changes once people experience the different sensations it can create.
One feature that can also be overlooked is the LED system on the controller. The indicators help users keep track of the Bass and Treble levels they are using.
That makes it easier to remember a combination you particularly enjoyed and return to it next time instead of trying to guess the settings all over again.
7. What Is One of the Biggest Mistakes People Make When Choosing a Sex Toy?
Kelly’s answer was simple: buying based purely on hype.
A product can be incredibly popular and still not provide the type of stimulation you personally enjoy.
Rather than starting with whichever toy is getting the most attention online, Kelly recommends thinking about your own preferences.
Do you prefer vibration or stroking? Deep, rumbly stimulation or something lighter and more targeted? Where do you enjoy stimulation most? How much intensity do you actually like?
Those questions can be more useful than simply asking which product is currently the most popular.
Before buying, ask yourself:
- Where do I want the stimulation?
- Do I prefer vibration, pressure or stroking?
- Do I enjoy lighter sensations or stronger power?
- Will I mainly use the toy solo or with a partner?
8. Is the JETT TURBO Better for Solo Play or Couples?
It can work for both.
During solo play, users can experiment with the different Bass and Treble combinations and build intensity at their own pace.
With a partner, the controller adds another dimension. One person can wear the JETT TURBO while their partner takes control of the settings, making it useful during foreplay and partnered experiences.
Eon also highlighted this versatility during the conversation, describing the JETT TURBO as a well rounded option because it does not have to be limited to one type of play.
9. Is the JETT TURBO Suitable for Beginners or More Experienced Users?
Kelly sees space for both.
A beginner can start at a lower intensity and experiment gradually rather than jumping straight into the strongest settings.
More experienced users have the opposite advantage: enough combinations and power to continue experimenting instead of being limited to one vibration style.
That ability to build intensity makes the JETT TURBO less about choosing a single preset experience and more about discovering what works for you.

Why Personalisation Matters More Than Hype
One theme came up repeatedly throughout the conversation: pleasure is personal.
There is no universal setting, toy design or stimulation style that works perfectly for everyone.
That is arguably where the JETT TURBO makes its strongest case. Instead of offering only one vibration, the separate Bass and Treble motors give users room to explore different combinations and figure out what their body responds to.
It also reflects the broader change Kelly described in attitudes towards male pleasure. The conversation is moving away from the idea that pleasure products exist to solve a problem and towards something much simpler: experimentation, fun and self discovery.
Built to Stay in the Toy Drawer for the Long Run
Kelly and Eon also discussed product longevity. Hot Octopuss designs its products with durability in mind, with the aim of creating toys customers continue using rather than quickly replacing.
The Hot Octopuss community has even found unexpected ways to use products over the years, sharing their own creative ideas and alternative applications with the brand.
For Kelly, that kind of feedback is part of what makes working in the pleasure industry so interesting: users often discover possibilities the original product team may never have anticipated.
Closing Thoughts This Interview
The conversation with Kelly Gordon made one thing particularly clear: buying a sex toy should not be about following whatever happens to be trending.
Understanding the type of stimulation you enjoy is far more useful.
The Hot Octopuss JETT TURBO takes that idea seriously. Its dual motor system, separate Bass and Treble sensations and adjustable settings give users room to explore instead of prescribing one supposedly perfect experience.
And whether you are exploring solo or bringing a toy into partnered play, that freedom to experiment might be the most important feature of all.
Thank you Kelly, for having this Q&A With Hot Octopuss.
