A. Deciding to have sex for the first time can be a big decision, and it’s completely normal to have questions and concerns about it.
So, how do you know if you’re ready to take that step?
Let’s dive into some important factors to consider.
Age is just a number
There is no “right” age to have sex for the first time. Make sure that you’re emotionally and mentally ready for such an intimate experience.
Reflect on Your Feelings
What are the motivations for wanting to have sex. Make sure that you’re not feeling pressured by your partner or anyone else. And that you’re making the decision for yourself.
Once you’ve decided that you’re ready, it’s crucial to take precautions to protect yourself from sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unwanted pregnancy. Talk to your partner about using condoms or other forms of birth control. Both get tested for STIs before engaging in sexual activity with a new partner.
Do you feel comfortable and safe with your partner?
It doesn’t necessarily have to be the “perfect” partner. But it’s important that you trust them and feel respected by them. If you’re feeling uneasy or unsure about your partner, it may be a sign that you’re not quite ready for sex.
